This coming September will be a big one for us… Jude will be starting preschool! We’ve been preparing for school these past few months, but really, we’ve been preparing for school/creating a learning environment in our home since Jude was a little tiny baby.
We started reading to the boys from the very beginning – so I think that’s how Jude fell in love with books/reading…
Since I’m in full “back to school” mode, I wanted to share some of the learning tools that we use for our little guys:
- Books – we have a lot lying around the house (I’m constantly bringing new books home – perks of working at the library)
- Large alphabet letters and numbers – The boys love playing with these and using them to make words. We also use them to as stencils to make even more letters.
- Notebooks and markers – easy to reach so they can draw or write (though, Seth still eats them)
- Leapfrog Phonics Toy
-
A few educational apps that we use:
Here’s little video of Jude reading at 22 months and here at 2 and 1/2 years old. Ok, now I’m off to go school shopping (one of my favorite things to do).
