Counting Fun!

The little guy is really fascinated with numbers right now.  I don’t think he understands the concept, but he’s having fun just trying to recognize them.  He is constantly calling out numbers from license plates/highway signs when we are in the car or the price tags when we’re out shopping.  It’s way too cute to hear him try to say five which comes out as “fie”.

I wanted to share some number books that we are enjoying right now…

  • Spot Counts from 1 to 10 by Eric Hill – Filled with cute animals so you can practice the numbers and the animal sounds too!
  • Corduroy’s Day (A Counting Book) by Lisa McCue – A fun counting adventure with Corduroy!
  • Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed by Eileen Christelow – Who doesn’t love these fun monkeys?
  • Ten Little Eggs by Jean Marzzolo – The little guy really likes this one because it’s a touch and feel type of book.
  • Let’s Play Music by Fisher Price – Counting and music all in one!  Win!

Add them to your little ones bookshelf or check them out at your local library!

One counting book I never tired of reading (over and over and over) is Ten Little Ladybugs. It doesn’t have a lot of words and they rhyme, which is a bonus.
