A few years back, I was so excited when iTunes released their virtual University (iTunes U). I subscribed to the many art history courses that were offered by the universities … I learned so much, and it was awesome to take actual college classes for free – I was hooked! After watching all the classes that I found interesting, I decided to take a break from iTunes U until more colleges joined and new art classes were offered. I ended up taking some wonderful courses from Lynda, Camp Pikaland and Renee Pearson .
This past week, Apple announced some of the new features of iTunes U including an iTunes U app and I can’t wait to start “going back to school” again, they have added even more classes and more colleges are offering their courses. If you haven’t checked it out yet, you really should! Did I mention that it’s free? Win, win.
Some of the courses/lectures that I recently subscribed to:
- Design Perspectives by Swinburne University
- Practice of Art by UC Berekely
- Artist Interviews and Talks by the National Portrait Gallery
- RMIT Talking Design
Check it out and let me know if you find some great classes. I’m always looking for more!
